
James J. Greco
Chief Executive Officer
James Greco joined sbarro as CEO in January 2012, prior to January 2012 Mr Greco partnered with Sun Capital to acquire Bruegger's in 2003, and served as CEO until the company was acquired by Groupe Le Duff SA, a leading French operator of bakery-cafes, in 2011. Sun Capital earned a return of 36% per year on its investment in Bruegger's. While CEO, Greco successfully turned around the business, produced more than 20 consecutive quarters of positive same store sales and total sales growth, and completed numerous smaller acquisitions including the successful acquisition of Timothy's World Coffee's retail brands. In 2009, he was named Operator of the Year by Nation's Restaurant News, one of the industry's highest honors. Prior to Bruegger's Bagels, Greco was CEO of Fieldbrook Foods Corporation for seven years, and he also served as Chief Operating Officer of Natural Country Farms for five years. Greco has a degree in Economics from Georgetown University and a law degree from the University of Miami.
Anthony Missano
President, Sbarro Business Development
During his 35-year tenure at Sbarro, Anthony Missano has played a key role in
helping drive the company's growth from seven restaurants to over 1,000 locations
across more than 45 countries.
Missano currently serves as President of Business
Development at Sbarro, where he oversees new concept development, real
estate, construction, and purchasing for the company's corporate and
franchise locations throughout the world. He recently led the development
and launch of Sbarro's pasta sauce, the first brand extension in the
company’s 50-year history.
Since joining Sbarro in 1975 as a member of the kitchen staff at one of the
company's first locations, he has held roles of increasing responsibility.
After four years of working within the restaurants, Missano joined the
newly formed franchising division at Sbarro, where he helped grow the company by an
average of 20 percent per year by opening more than 60 locations throughout
the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. The company's rapid growth was instrumental
in Sbarro's successful IPO in 1985 (the company later went private in 1999).
Missano was promoted to Director of Operations in 1984 where he was responsible
for national operations of corporate and franchise locations. In 1992, he was
named Zone Vice President and was responsible for $150 million worth of corporate
operations in the U.S., achieving four consecutive years of high profit growth
for the company. Missano then went on to serve as Corporate Vice President and
Officer of the company in 1996.
From 2000-2003, Missano served as President of the company's quick-service
division, where he managed more than $300 million of corporate business. Under
his guidance, QSR Magazine awarded Sbarro First Place in the Foodservice
Packaging Awards' beverage packaging category in 2003, for the company's
innovative CD-in-a-lid marketing initiative.
Carolyn Spatafora
Chief Financial Officer
Carolyn M. Spatafora was appointed Chief Financial Officer on December 30, 2009. Prior to December 30, 2009, Ms. Spatafora served as the Senior Vice President of Finance. Ms. Spatafora joined Sbarro in March 2005 as Director of Finance and Controller. Prior to joining Sbarro, Ms. Spatafora was employed by Adecco, a staffing services company, for ten years as a Director and Assistant Vice President in positions of Internal Audit and Information Technology. Ms. Spatafora began the first five years of her career at KPMG and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York.
Mark Censoprano
Chief Marketing Officer
Since joining Sbarro in January 2010 as Chief Marketing Officer, Mark Censoprano
has overall responsibility for developing, defining, and inspiring superior brand
positioning and execution. He leads strategic direction of the Sbarro brand across
all touch points including Mission and Message, Menu and Product Development,
Consumer Insights, Media, and Marketing Planning & Execution.
Censoprano is a senior marketing executive with over 18 years of brand management
experience at leading restaurant and packaged goods companies. Censoprano’s innovative
marketing work has been recognized with Ad Age and Brandweek “Top Spots,” USA Today’s
“Top Ten Product Placement to Most Improved Consumers’ Impression of Brand,” and an
Effie Award for Sustained Business Success. Prior to Sbarro, he served as Senior
Vice President of Culinary & Beverage for Darden Restaurants. Censoprano lead Olive
Garden’s talented culinary and beverage teams in the development delicious Italian
food and a diverse beverage program designed to bring the genuine Italian dining
experience alive for its guests. Censoprano maintained Olive Garden’s strong partnerships
with supplier partners across the world to procure the best products and create
industry-leading processes that delivered the highest guest and operator satisfaction.
Censoprano’s team was also responsible for Olive Garden’s Culinary Institute of Tuscany
and its curriculum, which immersed managers and team members in the Italian food, wine
and culture experience annually. In November 2004, Censoprano was named Vice President
of Brand Management for Olive Garden. In this role, he and his team were responsible for
creating a distinct and compelling brand identity for Olive Garden through national television,
radio and print advertising, as well as in-restaurant merchandising, promotions, event
sponsorships and local marketing initiatives. He also led the development of the company’s
first digital marketing strategy and national Hispanic marketing program. During his tenure,
Olive Garden achieved record setting business results and industry-leading sales & traffic
growth that outperformed the major brands in causal dining.
From 2002 to 2004, Censoprano was a Director of both established businesses and new
products in the Soup division for the Campbell Soup Company. His leadership resulted
in several of the largest new product launches ever achieved at Campbell’s. Censoprano
was with S.C. Johnson & Son from 1992 to 2002 in brand management roles of increasing
responsibility, both on established businesses as well as new products. Throughout his
career, Censoprano successfully grew sales and share for several top brands in the Home
Cleaning, Personal Care, Insect Control and Home Storage divisions.
Censoprano has an MBA and a Bachelor of Science with distinction from Cornell University
and currently serves on Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration Masters Program Advisory
Board. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Long Island, a
national non-profit organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those in need.
Stuart M. Steinberg
General Counsel
As Sbarro’s in-house General Counsel, Stuart Steinberg is responsible for
all of the company’s legal negotiations and litigation including franchise
agreements, corporate agreements and construction contracts. Steinberg, who
joined Sbarro in 1997, serves on the company’s executive committee and helps
direct the day-to-day activities and the decision-making process for the
company.
For more than two decades, Steinberg has represented clients in business and
personal matters as a partner of the full-service regional law firm,
Steinberg, Fineo, Berger & Fischoff, P.C. He has extensive experience in
negotiating business and real estate transactions and has additional areas
of concentration including commercial lease transactions, finance
transactions, business start ups, partnership and shareholders' agreements,
and joint venture transactions. Steinberg has litigated matters in the
areas described above in both New York State and Federal courts, having been
admitted to practice before those courts for almost twenty years.
Steinberg received his Bachelor's Degree in political science and education
from Queens College in 1979 and his Juris Doctor Degree with Distinction
from Pace University School of Law in 1982. He graduated at the top of his
law school class and was awarded a Citation of Excellence Award as the
outstanding student in International Law at Pace.
