Almost 50 years ago, a key went in a door, the lights went on and Carmela started her business. It was 1956
when Carmela, together with her family, came to America to continue their tradition of hospitality and serving
quality food. The family settled in Brooklyn, and the business they opened soon became a well-known landmark for
anyone seeking great tasting, authentic Italian cuisine.
Today, that tradition and dedication to excellence is still found in Carmela's Restaurant Pizzeria. Every day,
menu items are prepared fresh - we proudly serve hand-made mozzarella cheese and pizzas made with hand-stretched
dough. In our kitchen, pots of sauce simmer on the stove and fresh made pastas bake in our ovens. Simple, fresh
and affordable. It's our way, it's Carmela's way.
